1. Think about how much time you and your employees spend on the internet, how many people will be connected at one time and what you use it for because this will give us an idea on how much bandwidth you will need.
2. Make sure you get your phone line included in the package because this will help to reduce the cost of your bills.
3. When you purchase a business broadband package, make sure your provider has a strong coverage in your area. You do not want to end up with low signal constantly.
4. Be careful with the length of contract you are signing up to and check how long it is for because sometimes providers only offer their good deals to ridiculous length contract holders.
5. Again, when signing up make sure that everything such as handsets and line rental are all included in the price that you were offered and do not accept any hidden charges.
6. Look out for deals with high speeds and unlimited downloads so that when you use your broadband as a platform for your phone systems, there will be no download speed issues.
7. Make sure that like Elite, there is always somewhere for you to call if you come across any problems with the service.
8. Make use of the added features that your providers, like Elite Telecom, give to you. These can be extra mailboxes, online file storage and more.
9. When you get your broadband package, get one that allows you to connect to the network on the go so you can access your emails wherever you are away from the office.
10. Use anti-virus and firewall protection with your business broadband. Some versions such as MPLS already has it built in but there is no harm in added cover to protect your data and files.
At Elite Telecom we lease BT lines to companies at more competitive rates than the provider itself. Leased lines from Elite Telecom can offer your business a lot of benefits and added extras. As well as being cost effective, you get the added bonus of an experienced telecoms company that can service and maintain your systems and provide you with effective solutions for you business.

Cable & Wireless Communications has announced plans to build a new submarine cable in the Caribbean. The major new cable will double the current capacity, improving broadband in that region.
To be called the ‘East-West’ cable, it will link Jamaica and the Cayman Islands (west Caribbean) to the British Virgin Islands in the east, also making a stop-off in the Dominican. Cable & Wireless Communications has already begun to lay the cable and hopes to have it all up (or under) and running by 2011. This will make the third cable in the Caribbean region to be built by Cable & Wireless Communications.

Mon Dieu! Lignes Louées!
SMEs don't really have many options when it comes to business broadband - it's generally a choice of either using a home option for commercial use or buying an expensive lease line which has normally been the domain of bigger businesses. This is where Elite step into the breach to offer leased lines at affordable prices. That should give the SMEs something to smile about. We're like BT - bringing people together. Either that or we're like the French Revolution. Sticking up for the little guys. Just a little less gory.
The lifeguard crew of Humber (the Royal National Lifeboat Association) aren’t ones to let the grass grow under their feet – they’re men of action. And action is exactly what they were about when BT told them that laying cable for broadband to their place of work simply wasn’t feasible. The lifeguard crew of Humber decided to take matters into their own hands after this and with the help of Fibrestream, they dug their own trenches and laid their own fibre optic cable. Which, incidentally, runs at 100Mbps which is faster than most of BTs broadband! Well, they do say that God helps those who help themselves…
