1. Think about how much time you and your employees spend on the internet, how many people will be connected at one time and what you use it for because this will give us an idea on how much bandwidth you will need.
2. Make sure you get your phone line included in the package because this will help to reduce the cost of your bills.
3. When you purchase a business broadband package, make sure your provider has a strong coverage in your area. You do not want to end up with low signal constantly.
4. Be careful with the length of contract you are signing up to and check how long it is for because sometimes providers only offer their good deals to ridiculous length contract holders.
5. Again, when signing up make sure that everything such as handsets and line rental are all included in the price that you were offered and do not accept any hidden charges.
6. Look out for deals with high speeds and unlimited downloads so that when you use your broadband as a platform for your phone systems, there will be no download speed issues.
7. Make sure that like Elite, there is always somewhere for you to call if you come across any problems with the service.
8. Make use of the added features that your providers, like Elite Telecom, give to you. These can be extra mailboxes, online file storage and more.
9. When you get your broadband package, get one that allows you to connect to the network on the go so you can access your emails wherever you are away from the office.
10. Use anti-virus and firewall protection with your business broadband. Some versions such as MPLS already has it built in but there is no harm in added cover to protect your data and files.
MPLS stands for Multi Protocol Label Switching. This is a high speed internet protocol that allows many different types of data to be transmitted and you can attach priorities onto them. You choose which data package needs to be delivered faster and you decide which ones are not as important.
MPLS broadband is a definite bonus when you’re running a high-speed business where information needs to be passed around quickly. Elite Telecom can offer you an MPLS broadband package that works for your business and doesn’t cost the earth.
Tw Telecom, a nationwide broadband ethernet and MPLS IP VPN provider, is to join forces with BT and Cisco to deliver a U.S. based business conferencing solution. Video conferencing has become a mainstream solution since environmental awareness, the recession and the recent volcanic ash cloud have made business travel less feasible.
Tw Telecom will provide business customers with broadband ethernet and MPLS services as well as connecting BT's Global Video Exchange platform with Cisco’s commended TelePresence solution. The result will be a high-end video conferencing solution that will enable businesses to communicate both internally and externally while saving money.
Never one to hang around waiting on its laurels (whatever they are), Vodafone has announced to the world at general that its Global Enterprise division has just won a five year contract with Deutsche Post DHL (DPDHL). The contract requires Vodafone to provide a managed MPLS network connecting 400 sites in 67 countries and an international WAN (wide area network) across the Middle East, Africa and Eastern Europe. Let’s hope Vodafone is up to the task.
Polycom and BT have joined forces in a partnership that is set to bring forth a unified conferencing platform for businesses. In the partnership, Polycom will of course provide the video conferencing and web conferencing solutions which will then be packaged with services on BT’s MPLS communications network. The move to provide a unified conferencing platform will undoubtedly be a popular one and as far as Polycom are concerned, the partnership with BT will allow them to keep pace with growing companies like Cisco and Logitech.
You Want WAN With That?
According to recently released data from networkworld.com, most WAN strategies now feature MPLS – now if you’re a novice at this, that’s going to mean about as much to you as a slice of Arabic. WAN? MPLS? What?
Well what the big deal is all about is how the wide area networks (WAN) have been made better and faster because of Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS). So all you need to know is that if you have business broadband and someone says ‘want MPLS with that?’ (like some hi-tech McDonalds of the future) then the right answer to give, is yes. Yes I do.
