1. Before you sign up to any deal, make sure you have an idea of what you want and what you need from the provider.
2. Try to get a contract that involves you using more than one handset so that you can have one bill for several employees.
3. Think about whether calls or texts will be used the most, and take this into consideration when choosing a contract, getting a deal with the most of what you use included.
4. Try to get free calls between the same networks, which most providers allow. Essentially you will be getting free calls between everyone in your business.
5. If you have offices abroad, have a look for deals that do special offers on international calls.
6. Every 12 months when your contract is up, review it and have a look around, don't just renew it as you might find a better deal.
7. If you are currently using a pay as you go phone for business calls and you are spending over £15 per month, you will benefit from swapping to a contract deal.
8. Think about how many people within the business will be needing a business mobile. If it is above 5 it is worth getting a combined one, but below you might as well get separate deals for each.
9. Make sure you choose a tariff with data allowance so that you are not charged extra for all the emails that you send and receive from your phone.
10. Always tell the provider if you have seen a better deal and let them try and beat it. Elite Telecom has many providers so can usually do that for you.

A new study conducted by leading business telecoms research and analysis group, Juniper Research has found that the number of users taking advantage of VoIP applications for their mobile and smartphones will rise to over 100 million by 2012.
Current uptake levels are expected to rise at an unprecedented rate due to a correlation between applications and services becoming increasingly available in North America, Europe and the UK at the same time businesses employ VoIP internal systems in order to take advantage of the huge savings offered.
The study also claims that the calling patterns of migrant workers will have a significant effect on user records due to both the increased international dispersion of employees and the fact that business VoIP offers much cheaper international connectivity rates.
The study also anticipates alliances between operators looking to increase global coverage as the popularity of mobile VoIP increases.
Senior Analyst for Juniper Research, Anthony Cox, said of the report. ‘By 2012 we expect significant uptake of mobile VoIP in its various different flavours… We also anticipate that several more traditional operators will have joined 3UK and Verizon in the US and developed relationships with mobile VoIP players such as Skype”.
The study also takes into account the popularity of incumbent operators as well as the possibility of rising competition over coming years. Given the current rise to prominence of the UK telecoms market, this may have a significant effect on future services.

Industry experts are warning next year’s summer Olympic Games could cause a mobile phone network ‘capacity crunch’, leaving users in the capital without service unless thousands of Wi-Fi hotspots are built in time.
In response to London Mayor Boris Johnson’s recent warning that mobile phone service could be put under a ‘massive strain’ during the games, Chief executive of Virgin Media, Neil Berkett voiced his concerns, stating that with the process of upgrading moving too slowly, the Olympics could be a missed opportunity for telecoms providers across the country.
This could have a huge knock-on effect for both residents and visitors to the city, who may be unable to take advantage of the most basic applications, such as keeping up to date with the latest travel information or negotiating the games themselves.
Local businesses are also likely to feel the strain, as calls and lines become vastly more unreliable and disruptions become commonplace.
The use of mobile phones is still growing at speed and as more and more users turn to smartphones, which are often programmed to switch from telephone masts to available Wi-Fi hotspots, there is a real danger of services being unable to offer equal levels of service to all customers.
While services will be free for everyone, speed and time limits could be imposed upon those who do not already subscribe to the winning bidder.
To ensure that you are on the winning side, contact Elitetele.com for advice on how to tackle the Olympic Games in your area.
MP’s have called for Blackberry to suspend or restrict their messaging service, (BBM) as it’s believed to be helping the rioters outsmart police, after it was used to organise their attacks and hail troops.
However, banning BBM could only make matters worse. Social media has become the only place people could get up to the minute information about riot activity happening in their area. Receiving information on which areas were unsafe and should be avoided and not to mention the instant messenger service played a huge role in organising the group clean-ups which took to the streets.
Plus all of these networks have provided an incredibly important source of intelligence to the authorities and the media alike with Blackberry’s manufacturer RIM agreeing to work with authorities to identify key players in the riot. So if we restrict this service not only will we not know what’s going on but police will be making it harder for themselves.
So here at Elite Telecom we say don’t ban the Blackberry’s messaging service in the right hands this service is proving a valuable tool.

As the PC commemorated its 30th birthday many are asking is this the end of the line?
According to a leading IBM designer, Dr Dean, the PC is headed for extinction and being replaced by the likes of smartphones and tablets.
However thanks to the PC, Dr Dean argued that PCs created the environment for a new generation of devices to evolve. Leading to an environment in which technology allowed new ideas to flourish, without individual items being a barrier to creativity.
“While PCs will continue to be much-used devices, they’re no longer at the leading edge of computing,” he said, with Dr Dean himself admitting to his own main device being a tablet computer.
Frank Shaw of Microsoft claimed that the spread of new devices associated with computing was the start of the “PC-plus era”, rather than a sign of decline of traditional computing. So without the PC would we be sat here now with our smartphone and tablet? Probably not, so we say thank you PC and happy birthday.

According to a recent study, smartphones used for the purpose of business could result in severe data security breaches.
IT organisation Dasient examined 10,000 applications used by the Android operating system, and noted that over eight per cent were divulging sensitive data by sending it over to unauthorised computers.
Chief technology officer at Dasient Neil Daswani stated that whilst 800 applications were responsible for increased data risks, there were at least 11 sending out text messages to the mobile phone’s contact list – acting in a similar fashion to that of spam mail, with many being charged the user premium rates.
“The user ends up paying for those messages, and they can be pretty expensive. It’s sort of like the old 900-number scams, where if you called once, your phone would continue to incur the charges over and over again,” he said.
Network security provider Fortinet recently disclosed that firms were well aware of the data security hazards associated with smartphones, but were facing difficulties in resolving the issue.

The summer’s here, and that can only mean one thing – expensive phone bills. With many people travelling abroad and taking their most trusted companion (their smartphone) with them, it is predicted that at least 79 per cent of smartphone customers will be using their mobile’s Internet whilst away from the UK.
In a recent study commissioned by leading mobile retailer, The Carphone Warehouse, the findings noted that around two thirds of smartphone customers have been hit with huge bills following a break outside of their home country – with 81 per cent of respondents admitting to their bills being £100 more than usual after coming back from their holiday.
The European Union have already enforced measures to lower call and text costs outside of the UK; but using web-based services whilst abroad will remain one of the more expensive challenges.
Surprisingly, only 6 per cent of the 2,000 smartphone users polled knew the accurate answer to the cost of using the web, with Twitter and Facebook proving the most popular services for British holidaymakers.
UK managing director of The Carphone Warehouse, Matt Stringer, explained: “We’ve seen a real increase in smartphone users over the past year. Roughly 85 per cent of handsets sold with a post-pay connection at The Carphone Warehouse in 2010 to 2011 were smartphones, with penetration in the rest of our European markets increasing all the time.
“However, even though adoption is high, the findings highlight the potentially high costs associated with using smartphones abroad…Data users should keep a look out for wifi spots where they can connect to the Internet without using the local 3G network.”
