Swyx, a market leader in business phone systems and unified communications, has just announced the new Option Pack for SwyxWare, the unified communications telephony solution.
The Option Pack, which should be available in December, will give a greater telephony function to users of Lotus Notes. Functions such as voice messages in WAV/MP3 format, dialling from your contacts list and intelligent call routing will be made available to businesses with a Swyx phone system. Quite a Swyxy package!
New advances in technology obviously offer a whole new set of problems as well as advantages. Like with Smartphones. A recent security forum organized by a business travel company highlighted the disturbing notion of foreign governments monitoring your phone calls with one speaker claiming that the Chinese government monitors incoming and outgoing phone calls.
Less daunting but still disturbing is your own company being able to track you by your phone signal – no more sneaky sick days! However, while these advances in technology can have a negative side, they also have a positive one too. A smartphone may be the end of your “sick” days but a Swyx phone system can be the start of days working at home. You can route all your calls to one number and swap it from landline to mobile, meaning that you could quite easily stay in bed and work from your laptop! Technology may have its’ downs but it definitely has its’ ups too.
Barnsley based solicitors, Raleys Solicitors, established in 1883 and with a staff of 145 has changed its’ outsourced telephony service from Centrex to a SwyxWare unified communications (UC) solution.
Raleys Solicitors found that the Centrex system was incurring high costs and the absence of a VoIP system was hindering the firms flexibility and customer service.
After searching the unified comms market for a solution that ticked all of the boxes, Raleys eventually discovered Swyx. As Swyx is a software-based solution with an affordable license model that can integrate with other IT systems, it was the obvious choice for Raleys.
Richard Hilton, Chief Technology Officer for Raleys’ said “The majority of our work is conducted over the phone and it’s imperative that our customers have the option of talking to a human rather than a machine. Using Swyx’s ‘presence’ functionality, it’s possible to route calls dependent on someone’s diary movements and secretaries now have the ability to pick up group calls.”
With the SwyxWare in place, plus 10 SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) phones installed, SwyxMobile, the opportunity to take advantage of SIP Trunking and plenty more features, Raleys Solicitors is, needless to say, sticking with Swyx!
Raleys Solicitors, a U.K.-based legal firm has recently implemented a phone system from Swyx, a Unified Communications vendor. Raleys Solicitors have been using an older telephony system that had high costs and did not offer the benefits that a SwyxWare system would.
Raleys Solicitors chose Swyx for their outsourced telephony system due to the inclusion of VoIP unified communications and the ‘presence’ feature which allows customers to be routed to a secretary if they feel the need rather than an IVR system. To streamline the company, Raleys Solicitors are also making use of SIP phones and SwyxMobile.
Yo! Sushi, one of the world’s fastest growing restaurant chains chose Swyx Phone Systems to supply an IP telephony solution to replace its aging circuit switched incumbent. The company will upgrade its existing 35 restaurants with the new technology and has aggressive plans to roll-out a further 15 outlets within the next 12 months.
According to Yo! Sushi IT Manager Billy Waters, it was Swyx’s software licenses that won them over, as opposed to other companies more complex hardware based solutions. Other companies – you just got fish slapped.
