Elite Telecom winning with the Blues

October 2003

Everton FC are wowing their fans both on and off the pitch thanks to a new streamlined box office service designed by Merseyside telecommunications specialists Elite Telecom.

The Premiership giants receive many hundreds of telephone calls every week from their army of supporters, requesting tickets or match information.

The solution to the problem of providing a fast and efficient answer service was an IVR, or interactive voice response and a Call Queueing system designed by Elite Telecom.

The new service allows fans to call one single number to receive information on home and away fixtures and ticket availability, book their tickets via a 24-hour dial-a-seat automated ticket line, or speak to a member of staff in the box office. A call queueing system ensures that all calls are answered as efficiently as possible and whilst fans are waiting they are updated with club information by way of a message relaying system.

The new service means a new Memorable Number for the club and hopefully it is one that supporters won't easily forget -0870 442 1878.

"We chose the number because 1878 is the year the club was founded so it represents a special date for our supporters" said Club Secretary David Harrison.

"We wanted to make our booking and information service much more convenient for our fans. It means that they no longer call us and find that we are engaged or unable to answer their call. We are receiving very positive feedback about the new service. We are able to provide a range of options for callers and so it is far easier for them to select the exact information or service they require."

"It has taken the pressure off the staff who now have more time to speak to visitors who come to the box office at Goodison Park, this enables us to offer a better face-to-face service too. We are very pleased with the results and the fans are too" he added.

Simon Cutler Sales Director of Elite Telecom, based at Rainford Hall, St.Helens said, "We are delighted that we were able to provide the right solution to enable Everton FC to streamline its box office service with such positive benefits for the club and its many supporters."
